Treanor & Fatio Architectural Records, 1929-2012, undated

 Series

Scope and Contents

This series contains records relating to the work completed by the architectural firm Treanor & Fatio. Many of the records are undated, however dated material spans 1929-2012. These records include different variations of commission lists, including handwritten and typewritten lists that describe architectural styles, owner names, addresses, dates, project names, job/commission numbers, and titles of architectural drawings. Some of the records include handwritten notes that indicate if a property listed has been demolished, as well as referencing the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, the Simonson Collection, and the Ritchie Collection, potentially in reference to a collection of architectural material donated to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County by former Palm Beach mayor Mack Ritchie in 1989. Many of the handwritten records and notes were created by Alexandra Fatio Taylor. Some records appear to be catalog records. Commission lists are mainly for properties in Palm Beach, however the records within the file “Treanor & Fatio Commission Index Cards, 1990-2009, undated” contains information on properties designed by the firm in New York, as well as photographs.

Also included in the series is correspondence between Alexandra Fatio Taylor and Jean M. Treanor, daughter of architect William Treanor, a member of Diane Russell and Associates, Inc., Polly Anne Earl, and John Mashek. Correspondence details personal matters, as well as research into the history of the work of Treanor & Fatio, as well as surviving buildings designed by the firm. The series also contains a set of 8” x 10” b/w pen and ink illustrative renderings of façades, aerial views, and floor plans of residences and other buildings designed by members of the Treanor & Fatio firm. Select renderings are signed by Maurice Fatio, J. Scott, or J.S., Lawson, and Simonson.
