Scope and Contents The collected papers on Addison Mizner includes letters, manuscripts, rare books, and scrapbooks. A significant part of this collection are telegrams and letters towards the end of Mizner’s life in 1933. Many telegrams are from his brother Wilson, who lived in Los Angeles at the time, and other friends who were concerned about the state of Mizner’s failing health. Architectural drawings by Belford Shoumate encompass his work primarily in Palm Beach and South Florida. Many projects are conceptual or renovations and additions to existing structures. Artwork by Shoumate includes pastel renderings of numerous projects, many of which are not identified. Photographic materials include documentation of Shoumate’s work, of note are the Wagner house in West Palm Beach and the MacNichol Manor apartments in Delray Beach.

The Clarke Family Papers (1841-2002) contains Clarke family documents pertaining to the Clarke v. Clarke legal proceedings, letters, ephemera, and the logbook for the yacht the Providencia. The dates of this collection range from the 1840s to the 2002, with the bulk of this collection occuring pre-1916.

The Eugene Lawrence Collection contains architectural photographs, renderings, and newspaper clippings of and relating to properties designed and built by Eugene Lawrence and the Lawrence group between 1965-2013. Properties are both residential and commercial, and center in Palm Beach, Florida, although Lawrence did design buildings in other locations within the Palm Beach County, Florida region.

Scope and Contents This collection includes mostly architectural drawings done by Gosman, Volk, Gottfried, Bennet, Bell, Stone, Wyeth and other small architectural groups.
