La Guerida, also referred to as the Kennedy Compound, is a large Mediterranean Revival mansion best known as the Winter White House for President John F. Kennedy. The house was originally constructed in 1923 for Rodman Wanamaker II, owner of Wanamaker Department Stores, by Addison Mizner. Maurice Fatio made numerous changes after the house was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Kennedy. In 1995, the property was designated as a landmark by the town of Palm Beach.
